Story of The Family Man Series: (Don’t worry its spoiler-free too 😉)

The Family Man Series features Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC) which is a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency, India

He is married to Suchitra and has two kids named Dhriti & Atharv. Srikant is a senior officer at TASC who with his team is engaged in the investigation of terrorist attacks in India from terrorist organizations of Pakistan and Srilanka.

Although it’s not the only challenge in his life as along with being an intelligence officer, he is an ordinary man in front of his family as he is not allowed to reveal his true identity in order to protect his family.

However, work-life balance is not an easy task to do especially when the job is secretive, low paying, has a high-pressure work environment and the National Security is entrusted on the person then this only leads to a lot of family conflicts in his life keeping his family life unsettled.

Now, will he be able to stop the terrorist attacks to bring peace in India?

Will he fail in his mission to stop bloodshed all over the country?

Or he and his family will fall apart being a victim of all this chaos?

Are the questions which will be answered to you on watching the show.

What makes the Family Man Series different from other series?

In social media, formal speeches or any media content consumption, you might have come across this quote:

“Champions are champions not because they do extraordinary things but because they do ordinary things extraordinarily.”

Likewise, the Family Man Series is not an extremely different series than other series in terms of genre, storyline, entertainment and other aspects. But what makes it different is the depth in every aspect.

Be it highly emotional situations, simple yet unpredictable plots, engaging storytelling with optimum pace, compelling mind hustles, thrilling dialogues & top-class acting.

All of these are the result of top-notch scriptwriting and phenomenal direction work that gives The Family Man Series an edge over the other series.

What’s great about the Family-Man Series?

Mind-blowing Story plots:

It has a superb storyline; I cannot appreciate it enough!

In both seasons, the story plots have been amazingly crafted.

I generally smell the future plots in any movie or series as they are predictable for most cases. I know you might have done this too.

But in the case of the Family-man, I was caught off guard multiple times which made me fascinated and anxious to stick to the edge of my seat until I finished watching the entire series.

The Phenomenal Star cast

The star cast is great for both seasons who have shown great acting skills. My personal favourite is Manoj Bajpayee because of which I had started watching the series, but after finishing watching, I became a fan of every lead and supporting character in the series.

They are that amazing.

Dialogue delivery is Bang-On!

It is not possible for a series starring Manoj Bajpayee to not have thrilling dialogues. The best part, it’s not only him, the other characters also have great dialogue segments in the entire series.

You’ll enjoy all of them

The character development is dope!

The character development is mind-blowing in both seasons.

Be it the protagonist, antagonist, the other lead characters and the characters in the supporting roles, everyone has a great character development delivered at a great pace which is easy for everyone to grasp and that’s why it feels so close to reality. I can guarantee that by the end of the series, there will be situations which you’ll relate with a few situations of your life!

Fighting scenes are greatly cinematographed

In both seasons, a lot of fighting takes place in many different locations. They are basically gun fights only but the way it is cinematographed is truly commendable as they have showcased both, the skills of the hero team and the enemy team while the conflicts.

This is an important aspect because the enemy team either belongs from the armed forces or any terrorist organizations which makes them skilled as well. When a series is able to balance the emphasis between those two, then it adds realness and relatability in the scenes and that’s what the Family Man series has pulled off.

Top-notch Scripting

You might have watched a few movies or series with great storylines but have lacked depth in reality and credibility because of the ineffective script.

However, with the Family Man Series, you’ll search for a Series with a great storyline and top-notch scripting that will hit a milestone.

(Of course, not to an end as there are always rooms for improvements 😂)

The Family Man Series has a great pace and good plot explanations which is ultimately the outcome of great scripting.

What’s bad about the Family Man Series?

This will be short as the series is so amazing because of which the flaws hold a small corner.

Unexplained & Unjustified plots:

Lonavala mein kya hua?

You might have come across this meme on the internet as the reason for its hype is the absence of plot justification I am talking about.

Likewise, there are some other plots too which were pitched in the first season and was touched in the second season but didn’t have any further presence in the series.

(I am not disclosing the entire plot to keep the article spoiler-free but I can give you a hint: It’s about an anti-social activist 😉)

Though there are indications that the plots will be justified in the upcoming season for now they can be regarded as unjustified.

Those plots have potential, so if the series catch up on that then it will add more glory to their success.

Who should not watch the Family Man Series?

Not for Underage Audience

As the series is based on fighting terrorism in both seasons and that too with intense bone-chilling crimes of society, like kidnapping, women harassment, and abusive conversations, it is evident the series is not for the underage audience.

It is fine for 18 years old but not for 16 or under 16 years old audience so if you belong to that category then the Family Man Series might not be the right choice for you.

Needs Subtitle Friendly Audience

If you are a person who knows English, Hindi and Tamil then the Family Man Series will be a treat to watch.

But if you don’t know Tamil then you have to watch the series with English subtitles as there are many segments of Tamil conversations in the series which the makers have kept to keep the originality intact in the series.

Now if you don’t know English & Tamil and only know Hindi then you’ll have to make a tough call – Watch the entire series with Hindi Subtitles.

So, in a nutshell, if you are not subtitle friendly, then the Family Man Series will not be a great choice for you.

Not for Soft-hearted Audience

The Family-Man Series has showcased many dark clutches of our society, be it women harassment, molestation, religious discrimination and terrorism fueled with hatred because of that along with many strong emotions that we witness in day-to-day life.

So, if you are a soft-hearted person and could not watch the dark reality of society, then The Family Man might not be the right choice for you.

Who should watch the Family Man Series?

If you are a person who wants to watch a series with:

  • Amazing Storyline having relatability from real-life.
  • Mind-blowing action sequence packed with hilarious dark humour.
  • Great Character development.
  • Good dialogues.
  • A beautiful showcase of friends, family and colleague relationships.

& If you are Okay with different languages and subtitles then The Family Man Series will be one of the best series you’ll watch in your life.

How to watch the Family Man Series – Is it Binge-Watch Worthy?

Yes, absolutely it is Binge-Watch Worthy but the catch is, you’ll have to watch the entire series (season 1 & 2) in your binge-watching as the first season closes with suspense in a running plot which continues in the second season.

Will there be a season 3 for the Family Man Series?

Yes, there will be season 3 of the Family Man Series as its premise is teased at the end of the second season. (I am not disclosing that here to keep the article miles away from spoilers.)

With the growing fanbase of the franchise, the makers are definitely in the process of announcing a season 3 soon. Though an official announcement about The Family Man season 3 will still take some time as Raj & DK are engaged in another series.

My Review- Is the Family Man Series Good?

Good? It’s a great series!

I have loved the series throughout, Though I was disgusted at the ending of the first season as it ended with a cliffhanger and I had to patiently wait for season 2. But that disgust turned into pleasure with the content offered in season 2.

It’s a must-watch if you love watching action thrillers, dark comedy and spy fiction as the series has packed them all with a commendably crafted storyline.

I started watching because of Manoj Bajpayee but ended up loving all the actors in the star cast of the Family Man Series.

Is the Family Man Series for under 18?

No, it’s not fit for an under 18 audience as the series involves, dark comedy, abusive conversations, the dark sides of society like Women Harassment and bloodshed. So, if the audience is not mature or has a soft heart then the Family Man series might not be the right choice for them.
